Calgary Rowing ClubSenior Competitive
From May through August, the core of the training for the competitive group occurs in the early morning - typically from 5:15-7:00 am. In winter, these rowers cross train in a variety of ways to improve their fitness. Training includes many hours on the rowing machine and cross country skiing, plus weight training, and core strength. The Calgary Rowing Club has been the proving ground for many successful athletes. Most recently, Calgary athletes who have represented Canada internationally are Tracy Cameron, 2005 World Lwt Champion and Camille Brillion, Pan Am Games medallist. Calgary's Scott Rand returned from the 2007 World Adaptive Championships with a bronze medal.
